LGBTQIA+ & Queer Therapy in Portland, Beaverton, and all of Oregon
LGBTQIA+ & Queer
As a queer therapist, I have deep passion and genuine enjoyment in supporting other members of the LGBTQIA community. My work with queer people spans the entirety of my career, and I’ve come to understand the unique and layered challenges this community faces. The political climate continues to shift in ways that directly impact access to care and safety. LGBTQIA individuals often navigate discrimination, family rejection, healthcare barriers, anxiety about the future, and laws that can affect their lives and wellbeing in very real ways. Beyond these external pressures, many also work through internal struggles around identity, gender dysphoria, and the complex family dynamics that can arise when coming out or living authentically.
My role is to be a grounded, affirming support whether someone’s mental health challenges are directly connected to identity-related struggles or exist alongside them. I’ve completed several letters of support for clients pursuing gender affirming care, and I’m always willing to do so as part of providing comprehensive, ethical care – it’s simply what good therapy looks like. I also recognize that people hold multiple identities, and the intersections of race, class, disability, and other aspects of who you are shape your experience profoundly. My work honors those intersections and the particular resilience required to navigate the world as a queer person. I work with adolescents and adults ages thirteen and up, and my commitment is to create a space where you can be fully yourself, supported in your identity and your healing.
